Keith Armstrong – Chief Executive
Keith has extensive in-depth procurement knowledge and business management experience having successfully worked in Public Sector procurement for over 16 years.
Keith’s journey as an entrepreneur started back in 2001 when he set up an e-commerce company for local businesses to sell their products online. Keith’s next move was to food wholesale giant Iceland where he worked in a supply-chain management role gaining extensive experience of working on contracts with an annual value of nearly £220m delivered in a fast paced “just-in-time” environment.
Since then, his background has been firmly in procurement consultancy and procurement consortia. Most recently he was Managing Director for a commercially operating national procurement consortium that over the last 10 years delivered £0.5bn of OJEU compliant procurement across more than 170 contracts saving over 70 clients which included Social Housing, NHS Trusts, Local Authorities, Education Providers and Charities more than £60m.
In 2019 Keith established Procurement Assist Limited with long-time friend and business partner Stephen Booth bringing together 16 years of procurement knowledge and more than 20 years sales and business development experience. This mix has created a unique offering to the market – superior procurement expertise delivered through a flexible, value for money and customer centric service delivery and support model.
Stephen Booth – Sales Director
Steve has over 20 years sales and business development experience across the bottled water industry, recruitment, telecommunications, and financial services and has worked at a senior level for a number of businesses many of which are household names.
In recent years he has provided business consultancy services in a variety of business sectors and prior to setting up Procurement Assist acted as a business development consultant for a national buying consortium, delivering 40% growth to the business. Steve’s approach is simple “Build long term open and transparent relationships with clients achieved through the design and delivery of high-quality, simple to use, and cost efficient solutions when compared to our competitors”.
Having known Keith for more than 13 years Steve and Keith established Procurement Assist in 2019 with the objective of re-designing the way compliant procurement support services are delivered to the UK Public Sector. Steve brings decades of experience in managing public and private sector clients to the business and his broad business knowledge and extensive sales experience brings a different range of expertise to the industry.
Phil Morrell – Head of Creative/Marketing
Phil has over 20 years creative and marketing experience working for brands such as MBNA, Littlewoods and Very whilst also helping many ‘start up’ businesses launch and grow through creative and marketing channels such as brand creation, website builds, social media and merchandise.
For 8 years prior to his role with Procurement Assist Phil worked as a freelance consultant and was recently involved in the re-branding of Shop Direct to the Very Group by creating and assisting the delivery of the internal and external communications and the design and build of the new corporate website.
At Procurement Assist Phil oversees the creative, advertising and marketing output which includes planning advertisements, monitoring brand campaigns, shaping brand standards and website design and maintenance.
A proud father of two young girls, he spends his downtime with them and tries to get as much time cycling and swimming as he can.
